Movies to video games - bad idea or?

Postby Lefalaja » Sun Feb 24, 2013 3:07 am

Many movies turn into video games and almost all are shit facepalm

Which is the best and the worse game that came from the movies? Tell us you choice :gaydance:

For me:

BEST: Batman: Arkham Asylum

WORSE: Terminator: Salvation

Nice thread Erwin!! I think far away the best movie video game was and will be forever Goldeneye!! Rareware respected so much the film!

Aladdin and Lion King were great too as games! Maybe Jurassic Park for Snes as I loved that game!

Though, usually is not a good idea to make video games by movies, most of them are..... :gaytard:

I have a soft spot for The Silent Hill movies.... which I know, is dumb, theyre not great facepalm
But I cant think of another single film based on a game thats worth a single shit, like any film by Uwe Boll (he needs a good fire cleansing).

As for games based on movies, avoid any LJN (nes , snes) and stick with PS1, Disneys allthough generic were kinda fun, I liked Hercules ^^ and the Die Hard Trilogy is also a kinda guilty pleasure....but I dont know why >.>
Try watching the Nostalgia Critics interpretation of Alone In The Dark, gives you a good idea of what you can expect from any video game movie :good2:

I think the best current gen movie-based game is The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay - only because Batman games more based on comics, than movies.
The worst probably Terminator: Salvation - it`s terrible, just terrible. Even LJN games look good when comparing to this. T2 on NES was no so bad, maybe because i played it when i was young and didn`t think why Terminator is smaller than first boss, or why guys are so hard. :)
Mostly movie-based game are bad, as game-based movies, with few exceptions.

Like A Dragon or Yakuza: Like a Dragon, how did I forget about this ^^ based on the playstation 2/3 games Yakuza! From one of my favourite directors Takashi Miike.
This is an exception to the rule, good game, good movie! :arosed:
